Meet the WAI Members that will be the Firsts in Their Family to Attend College

One of Women in Aviation International's mission is to prepare their members for college and beyond. According to a 2010 study by the Department of Education, an estimated 50 percent of the college population is comprised of people whose parents never attended college. The National Center for Education Statistics indicates that 30 percent of all entering freshmen are first-generation college students.

These three senior members will make their family's history by being the first to ever attend college. Gracie Murray, Caroline Tran and Najma Hashi are all coordinators and active members of WAI and have served their community by being mentors and organizing Tech Connect events. We are so proud of them!

Gracie Murray will be pursuing a Business Management major with a focus on Marketing at Central Washington University.

Caroline Tran will be pursuing a STEM major at Stanford University.

Najma Hashi will be pursuing a Bioengineering major in the University of Washington's College of Engineering
