Sydney has been an active member and leader of Women in Aviation International since her junior year. She is the head liaison to the Tukwila Public Library and coordinates the monthly Tech Connect workshops held there for local youth.
She has recently won the Jim and Sue Johnson Post-Secondary STEM Education Scholarship, in association with the Museum of Flight, that is worth $4,500 a year (pictured below). Sydney is also the winner of the Dollars for Scholars scholarship, Washington State Opportunity Scholarship and the Rolls Royce Spirit of Excellence scholarship. In total, her winnings add up to $46,500! As an integral part of Women in Aviation International, she has been able to serve her community and obtain the tools necessary to apply to college and scholarships.
She will enroll in the University of Washington College of Engineering as a part of the incoming Class of 2023.
